RESEARCH
My research explores how newer technologies may best be used to enhance education. I explore technology’s use in both formal education settings (schools) and informal education settings (museums, public history sites). In terms of formal education, I am evaluating the effectiveness of laptop initiatives in the schools. That is, how ubiquitous computer access changes the educational experience. In terms of informal education, I am investigating how museums and public history sites are using the World Wide Web to fulfill their educational missions. For both types of settings, I am exploring how blogs and podcasts might enhance both access and learning.
