Maybe we need a new partition of the subject into algebraic, geometric, and physical topology? Or maybe we should just forget about all these subdivisions entirely! [Speaking of which, I meant to cite Goodwillie calculus, Weiss calculus, and related ideas in my previous posting, as 'new' subjects with extremely interesting problems...]
