Subject: primitives and Lie

The cohomology of a compact Lie group has a nice description in terms of
the primitives.  In gneral, primitive classes are represented by H-maps.
Is anything known - other than for torii - about the primitive *forms*
in the de Rham or Lie algebra cochain complex?
