Subject: A (probably) dumb question Date: Wed, 30 Oct 2002 14:34:05 -0500 (EST) From: "R. Duane Skaggs" Hi, This is probably not the right forum for a question of this type, so please forgive me in advance. I am a mathematician-turning-computer scientist who hasn't seen much topology since back in grad school. Recently space-filling curves came up in an applied project of ours. Our problem is to fill the surface of a sphere with a simple closed curve. (More precisely, we want to approximate a sphere with a simple closed curve of some fixed length in the ``most efficient'' manner possible, but the meaning of efficiency can vary so general information is needed.) Does anyone know of any references for this situation? Thanks, duane R. Duane Skaggs Biodynotics Resesarch Lab Yost Engineering, Inc.
