The positions are for a two year term beginning July 1, 2007, with a flexible start date and the possibility of an extension to a third year. The salary will be $40,000 CDN per year plus a tax free research fund of $1,500. The positions will involve teaching two half courses per year, in addition to research. The successful candidates will work under the supervision of Dan Christensen or Rick Jardine, and should have completed a Ph.D. in 2004 or later. This position is at the Assistant Professor level and is scheduled to commence on July 1, 2007. The department is seeking candidates with an outstanding record of research and publication in an area of geometry with a preference to algebraic geometry, arithmetic geometry, differential geometry, mathematical physics, and noncommutative geometry. The candidate is expected to have a commitment to and demonstrated aptitude for teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and to supervise doctoral dissertations.
