On the wedge of spheres questions, this could be related
to "cancellation questions" popular in the early 70's.
Ignoring pointset questions, there should be a sort of
unique factorization after localizing at each prime.
I believe that a combination of my work (Topology 74??),
Mislin, and Zabrodsky should conclude what you want in the
finite case. I don't know anything in the infinite case.
