Each year, the nation pauses to reflect on the significance of the signing of the Constitution – a document that continues to shape the lives of countless individuals in myriad ways. This year, Constitution and Citizenship Day will be observed on Monday, September 17. Please explore the links to the right and below to learn more about the Constitution and to register to exercise your right to vote. Events: College Republicans, College Democrats, and the Progressive Student Alliance will hold an event commemorating the signing of the Constitution from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the north plaza at the University Center on Monday 17 September (rain location, 2nd floor hallway of the UC). Members will read the text of the Constitution, hand out pocket copies of the Constitution, and provide information to students about registering to vote. See the Constitution in action! Attend an open meeting of the undergraduate Student Senate on September 19 at 4:10 p.m. in UC 309. |
