Both single pages and Dreamweaver Templates can be used as templates for pages in Contribute.
The advantage of using a Dreamweaver Template for a web page is that parts of the page can be designated editable, and other parts not editable. In fact, you can have 'repeating regions' so that you can repeat groups of 'fill-in' sections on the page, or optional regions that you can turn on and off, or even change only certain attributes of page elements. This makes it simpler to make pages look all alike and helps prevent things getting messed up by accident.
To use Dreamweaver Templates in a Contribute-enabled website, the templates must be stored in a subdirectory called Templates, in the main directory of the site. Symbolic links can be used to make templates that are actually stored elsewhere on the website appear to be in that Templates page.
To create a page in Contribute using a Dreamweaver Template, use Contribute to browse to the directory you want to put the page in. Then, go to the File menu and choose New Page...

Choose the template to use, enter a title, and click OK to create the page.
To change settings in a template that are defined as editable
From the Format menu, choose Template Properties.
