Macromedia Contribute for Group Web Pages

Editing an Existing Page from the Web

Once you've set up the connection for your site, you can edit any pages you already have.

When you set up the site, Contribute will display the main page of your site immediately; when you close and re-open Contribute, you will be able to get to that page by clicking on the name of the site on the opening page under "Begin editing my websites"

Use page links to navigate to the page you want to edit, or enter in the address of the page to edit in the Address bar at the top of the screen.

When you are viewing the page you wish to edit, click the Edit Page button above the Address bar

You will be able to edit text, images etc.

Publishing the page

When you have made the changes you wish to make on the page, publish it back to the website by clicking the PublishPublish button button.

Saving without Publishing

If you want to save a copy of your changes to your computer and come back to it later, click the Save For Later button: Save for Later

Not publishing

If you decide not to publish your changes, it's important to click the "Cancel" button. This releases the 'lock' on the file that keeps it from being editing the page with Dreamweaver or Contribute either on another computer or by another user, if you are working with a group website. So, click the Cancel button: Cancel editing
