Lists
List types in HTML include bullet point lists, numbered/lettered lists, and
also definition lists (where a term, a paragraph aligned with the left margin,
is followed by a definition, which is indented). Dreamweaver makes it easy to
create lists:
- To start a bullet or numbered list, start a new paragraph and click on
the bullet
or numbered list
button in the Properties panel.
- To turn paragraphs into a list, select them and click on the appropriate
icon.
- To change the type of list bullet or number,
- click on it and click the 'List Item' button
in
the Properties panel. (You may need to expand the window using the more
icon in the panel)
- In the List Properties window

that comes up, you can then change the List type (bullet, numbered, etc.)
and the Style (type of bullet or numbering).
- To nest lists so that you can have sub-points, hit enter and start typing
the sub-point. Then click on the Indent button in the properties panel:
and
enter your subpoints. Click on the Outdent butto to back out. To change the
type in a sub-point, follow the directions above.
- To make a definition list, you must choose List from the Text menu, then
choose Definition List. Then begin typing your term ('terms' are flush with
the margin). When you hit Enter to go to the next line,
- the next line will be a definition, which is indented from the margin.
- The following line will be a term, flush with the margin. To get two terms
or two definitions in a row, use the Shift-Enter combination. Definition lists
are good for things such as address lists, descriptions of websites, etc.
To stop using the list type, go to the Text menu, choose List, and select None.

Whatever list type was selected will be removed.
