Behaviors

The Behaviors Panel allows you to insert various Javascript Behaviors.

To open the panel, choose Behaviors from the Window Menu.

Select the image, text, etc. you want to set a behavior on, then click on the + plus sign:

For an image, the events will usually look like this:

These events are available for Netscape and IE 4.0 and better.

Among the Behaviors you can choose are:

• Check Browser: to have a link go to different pages depending on what browser the user is using.
• Go to URL: have a page displayed when you put the browser over the object.
• Pop-Up message: have a pop-up window come up when the user puts the cursor over the object.
• Set Text of the Status Bar
• Play Sound

As you add behaviors to the object, they will be added to the Behavior window:

Clicking on the left column items allows you to set when the behavior occurs.

To see all the possible events, click on the long list icon

To return to seeing only the events that are set for the selection, click the short list icon:

If you are sure that you will only be addressing users with a particular browser, you can change the list of available events using the Show Events For: option.
