USING THE VIDEO EQUIPMENT

The Electrohome LCD projector is setup to project from the VHS or instructor's PC.  These devices are connected to an amplifier and speakers.  Devices are selected and controlled from the LCD AMX touch panel, located on the wall near the instructor's station.  The VCR and amplifier are located on the shelves. Instructional Technology Support Services (ITSS) may be contacted at x83059 to arrange for training of the room's features which is recommended prior to using the room.

Usage of the Video Devices

  1. Power up the projector by touching the AMX touch-pad (two touches may be required) and then touching the "System Power On" button.  Note that the projector does not turn on instantly.  It can take as long as 30 seconds for a picture to become visible.  Please be patient when selecting inputs.
  2. Power up the VCR and load tape (if being used).
  3. Turn on the amplifier if being used.
  4. Power on the Instructor's PC and monitor if being used.
  5. Press the Source button on the AMX touch-pad that corresponds to the device to be projected.

"VCR" selects VHS VCR.  The tape slot and VCR controls are located under a pull-down cover on  the left side of the VCR.

    "PC" selects the Instructor's PC.

  6. Adjust the volume at the amplifier on the shelf above the VCR.
  7. To turn off the projector, return to the main menu (touch menu) and press the system power off button.

Potential Video Problem Areas

The system is currrently set to turn off automatically at 7PM if anyone fails to turn it off.  Should the system turn off inappropriately, users may turn it back on with the touch panel.  Note that the projector does not turn on instantly.  It can take as long as 30 seconds for a picture to become visible.  Please be patient when selecting inputs. If there is no sound, check the amplifier power and volume levels.
