Computing/Networking Facilities

SITE AVAILABILITY

The facility is available Monday through Friday 8AM - 10PM.  Select Site Hours for a listing of other Computing locations.

HARDWARE

This site contains (10) Dell Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz machines with 2GB RAM, 80GB hard drive, CD-RW/DVD, and 256MB video. Users must supply their own audio headsets.

NETWORK - PRINTING

All computers in this room are connected via 100baset which is connected to the high-speed fiber backbone.  There is an HP Laserjet 4250dtn printer available for all computers in this room.

PROBLEMS

Before reporting a hardware or software problem, reload the software image from the server, i.e. do not reboot from the hard drive copy.  The reload takes about 7-8 minutes.  If the problem persists, call Library and Technology Services at x8HELP (x84357), and report the position letter of the failing unit and the nature of the problem. Call Johanna Brams at x86134 if printing supplies are needed.

SITE POLICIES

• The use of the printer is for small original copies, e.g. less than 50 pages.  Multiple copies and transparencies are prohibited.
• The computing facilities are for use by Lehigh faculty, staff and students only.
• Clients are expected to bring an audio headset to use audio services.
• Food is prohibited. Drinks are allowed in a closed container with a screw top (not cups with plastic lids).
