SITE AVAILABILITY

HARDWARE

This room contains 13 Dell Optiplex 755 Intel Core 2 duo 2.66GHz with 80GB SATA 7200rpm hard drive, 4GB RAM, CD-RW/DVD+/-RW, 256MB ATI RADEON HD 2400XT, and monitor. The HP 4250 laser printer can be accessed from any computer within this room. Select Hardware for a listing of hardware at other computing sites.

NETWORK - PRINTING

All computers are connected via 100baset, which are connected to the high-speed backbone network. The HP Laserjet 4250 printer located in this room can be accessed from any computer within the room.

AUDIO/VISUAL EQUIPMENT AND USAGE OF DEVICES

The LCD projector is set up to project from the Instructor's computer or the VHS VCR. There are speakers available for sound applications. Devices are selected and controlled from the LCD AMX touch panel located on the top of the instructor's desk. Please remember to turn off the projector.

1. Touch the AMX touch panel to view options and turn on the projector. Two touches may be required. Please note that the projector turns on gradually and you may not see an image for 30 seconds. A message will display as the system turns on. Please be patient.
2. Power up the computer CPU and monitor or VCR, depending on which source is to be projected.
3. Select PC or VHS depending on the source to project.
4. The volume up or down arrow buttons on the touch panel controls sound levels.

POWER DOWN SEQUENCE

1. Power off the projector using the AMX touch panel.
2. Logout and Shutdown Windows and Power off the PC.
3. Remove tape and power off the VCR.

PROBLEMS or ASSISTANCE

• If you experience hardware or software problems call the LTS Help Desk at x8HELP and report the letter of the system failing along with a detailed description.
• The system is set to turn off at midnight EST if anyone fails to turn off the projector. Should the system turn off inappropriately, users may turn it back on with the AMX touch panel although there will be a delay of several minutes while the system resets.

SITE POLICIES

• The use of the printer is for small original copies, e.g. less than 50 pages. Multiple copies and transparencies are prohibited.
• The computing facilities are for use by Lehigh faculty, staff and students only.
• Clients are expected to bring audio headsets to use audio services.
• Food and drink are prohibited.
