This is a departmental/LTS shared PC teaching site. It is available for public use when not scheduled for classes or labs. Reservations for classes may be made through the Journalism Department. Select Site Hours to determine this site’s operating hours or for a listing of other computing locations.
The lab contains (21) Dell Optiplex 755 Intel Core 2 duo,2.66GHz with 80GB SATA 7200rpm hard drive, 4GB RAM, CD-RW/DVD+/-RW, 256MB ATI RADEON HD 2400XT, and monitor. One computer is designated as the instructor computer and will project when selected from the touch-screen control.
All computers are connected via a 100Baset to the Backbone Network. The HP4250 printer located in this room can be accessed from any computer within this room.
The LCD Video projector is set up to project from the following sources: the local computer, VHS VCR, and from the auxiliary jacks on the tie plate located on the left side of the instructor's station. The computer is equipped with a Zip drive, digital sound card, and DVDROM. These devices, as well as the auxiliary audio ports located on the tie plate are connected to an amplifier and speakers. Devices are selected and controlled from the LCD AMX touch panel, located at the top left-hand side of the instructor’s station. A wireless mouse is available (contact the Media Center 83059 for information).
The auxiliary jacks on the tie plate include a 15-pin male VGA connector with associated network jack and stereo Ľ” mini jack (for portable computers) and RCA video connector with associated RCA audio jacks (for cameras, VCRs, document presenters, etc.). AC power is also available. These auxiliary jacks are provided for clients who wish to use their own special equipment and associated cables. . An interface cable is provided at the podium for user-supplied laptops.

“VCR” activates VHS VCR and displays the play, pause and other controls
“TV TUNER” selects the CATV system. Press “KEYPAD” select the desired channel and press “ENTER”.
“Aux. Video Input" activates the Auxiliary video jack (RCA connector) and associated RCA audio jacks for client-supplied video device.
“PC” selects the local computer (and DVD player). See the computer notes page for instructions).
“Laptop” activates the auxiliary computer jack (15-pin male VGA and stereo mini audio jack) for client supplied laptop.
"Aux. S-Video" is for a client supplied S Video device.
“Picture Off” blanks the projector image; "Picture On" reactivates the image
