Software for Faculty/Staff


Lehigh University has an agreement with Microsoft Corporation which offers popular Microsoft software for students to use on their personal computers. All currently enrolled Lehigh University students are eligible to receive this software.

Installation and use of this software indicates that you have read and agreed to comply with the terms and conditions of Lehigh University's Microsoft Campus Agreement as described in the Microsoft Student Users' Acceptance Form

What software is included?

Note: students must choose Office for Windows OR Office for Macintosh. Lehigh's agreement with Microsoft does not allow students to have both versions.

Office Enterprise 2007 (Windows) includes:
  - Word (word processor) 
  - Excel (spreadsheet)
  - PowerPoint (presentation graphics)

  - Publisher (desktop publishing)
  - Access (database)

  - OneNote (information organizer)

Download or CD

Allows installation on 2 student-owned computers

 Visual Studio Professional 6.0 (Windows) includes:
   - Visual Basic
   - Visual C++
   - Visual FoxPro
   - Visual J++
   - Visual InterDev

Student borrows the CDs from the Fairchild-Martindale Library

NOTE: the new version 2008 is available for free download from Microsoft DreamSpark

Office Standard 2008 (Macintosh) includes:
   - Word (word processor)
   - Excel (spreadsheet)
   - PowerPoint (presentation graphics)

SharePoint Designer (formerly: Front Page) (Windows) :
  Web authoring package

Allows installation on 2 student-owned computers

 Windows Vista Ultimate Upgrade (Windows) :
Operating system upgrade - can upgrade ONE machine currently using Windows XP, Vista Home Basic, Vista Home Premium or Vista Business

NOTE for Macintosh users: you may request ONE copy of the Vista Ultimate Upgrade DVD for use on one personally-owned Macintosh computer.

A limited supply of Windows XP Professional Upgrade CDs are also available from the EWFM Library circulation desk.

Note: this is an upgrade only and can not be used on a "blank" computer that does not have a licensed operating system

Student keeps the DVD - Allows installation on 1 student-owned computer

There are a number of hardware, software and compatibility issues with this operating system. LTS help desk support is limited. Computing personnel may not be able to provide immediate solutions for these issues. For information regarding Windows Vista at Lehigh as well as Vista in general:

Where and how to get the software?
Note: Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 is available for use in classrooms and at public sites

Beginning August 11, 2008 the following software can be downloaded here: http://www.lehigh.edu/software

 - Office Enterprise 2007 (Windows)

 - Office Standard 2008 (Macintosh)

 - SharePoint Designer 2007 (Windows)

CD/DVDs of the following software are available year-round at the Fairchild-Martindale Library circulation desk during regular operating hours. Students may keep these CDs/DVDs:

 - Office Enterprise 2007 (Windows)

 - Office Standard 2008 (Macintosh)

 - SharePoint Designer 2007 (Windows)

 - Vista Ultimate Upgrade (Windows or Macintosh)

CDs available for 1-day loan from the Fairchild-Martindale Library circulation desk

(also available via Install Software on the WIRED LAN)

 - Visual Studio Professional 6.0 (Windows)

Note: Visual Studio Professional 2008 is available for free from Microsoft DreamSpark

To receive any of this software on CD/DVD, students must present their Lehigh ID at the Fairchild-Martindale Library circulation desk.
