Basic service level gives access to LEAF (Lehigh Application Farm), Linux Workstations located at public sites across the university and the University Wide Condor Pool that utilizes idle CPUs on public site PCs and workstations. This service is free and open to all students, faculty and staff. LEAF (Lehigh Application Farm) can be accessed through ssh using these instructions. Linux Workstations and University Condor Pool can be accessed interactively at their respective public sites. Linux Workstations can also be additionally accessed remotely using ssh. A valid Lehigh Network ID and password can be used to authenticate in each of these services.
This service level includes, in addition to the Basic services, access to the 32-core server Altair. This machine is reserved for users that truly need access to a large, multi-core, 64-bit based processor architecture with large shared memory needs. Even though the service is free, Justification of computing problems in 64-bit space will be required in order to be granted access to this hardware. Users may file a request by submitting this online form. All requests by students have to be approved by a faculty (advisor or sponsor). The compute server can be accessed remotely using ssh.
