Instructions for using Ansys Workbench
In order to run AnSys/Fluent Graphical User Interface (GUI), you need to make sure your log onto the servers with graphical support.
- Windows Users
- On Campus: see X-Win32
- Off Campus: see Cygwin
- Linux Users
- Please use "-X" option to log onto the servers.
For example, ssh -X -l XXX altair.cc.lehigh.edu where "XXX" is your account name.
- Please use "-X" option to log onto the servers.
Setup the License Server
Launch Workbench
1. For Altair, type "/usr/local/ansys_inc/v121/Framework/bin/Linux64/runwb2 ".

For LEAF, type "/usr/local/ansys_inc/v121/Framework/bin/Linux32/runwb2".

3. Sometimes, the system will pop up a small screen when you launch the workbench. It shows that you can view some tutorials from Ansys official Website. If you wish to do so, here is the Customer number "00252106" which is required for the registration on the website.
Launch Geometry Designer
1. After starting Ansys Workbench, you can drag "Geometry" component from the sidebar on the left-hand side of the workbench to your main workspace.
2. Right click Geometry and you can import models to the workbench. Ansys also provides sample models for you. The location of sample models is "/usr/local/ansys_inc/v121/aisol/Samples".
3. After importing models, double-click "Geometry" icon, the system will show you designer.
