  1. Windows -- On Campus
  2. Windows -- Off Campus
  3. Linux

Windows -- On Campus

First, make sure you have X-Win32 installed on your computer. We recommend you go through our tutorial to get X-Win32 working on your machine.

Once you have X-Win32 installed, you could type "firefox" in the command line to remotely run a browser on our servers like LEAF or Altair.

In the address box in Firefox, type "file:///usr/local/abaqus/Documentation/docs/v6.8/index.html".

Windows -- Off Campus

Since X-Win32 is a commercial software which you may only get a trial version for 30 days, you probably need to use Cygwin to access our servers. Detailed Cygwin instructions is here.

Make sure you go through our tutorial and get Cygwin/X running on your machine.

Pay attention: You need to start X-Windows environment after starting Cygwin, which is also in our tutorial.

In Cygwin/X command line, you could type "firefox" to launch a browser remotely.

In the address bar of Firefox, type "file:///usr/local/abaqus/Documentation/docs/v6.8/index.html".

Linux

First, make sure you use "ssh -X" to log onto our servers. For example: ssh -X -l lih307 leaf.cc.lehigh.edu

Once you login to the system, type "firefox" to remotely run a browser.

Type "file:///usr/local/abaqus/Documentation/docs/v6.8/index.html" in the address bar of your browser.
