Installing and configuring Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0

Mozilla Thunderbird is a separate, PC based mail client. It works similarly to Mozilla Mail, but does not include the web browser component, and so can be combined with a web browser of your choice. These instructions apply to both Windows and Mac versions of Thunderbird.  For more information about using Thunderbird 2.0, see Customizing and Using Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0 .

If you use a previous version of Thunderbird, backup your profile data

While it's probably OK to install Thunderbird 2.0 over a previous version, it's good practice to backup your existing profile data in the unlikely event you experience upgrade difficulties. To backup your profile, see http://www.lehigh.edu/computing/docs/mailbackup/locations.htm

Download Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0

  • If you are installing Thunderbird for the first time, continue on to the next steps to set up your mail account and Lehigh address book.
