Manual Configuration of Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
for Access to the Lehigh VPN (sslvpn)
- Go to "System Preferences", and click the icon for the "Network" pane.

- Unlock the pane to make changes, if needed.
- Click the "+" at the bottom of the service list box on the left.
- In the resulting window, select "VPN" on the "Interface" pull-down.
- Then select "L2TP over IPSec" as the VPN Type.
- Enter something like "Lehigh SSLVPN" for the "Service Name", and click "Create".
- In the Server Address box, type "sslvpn.lehigh.edu" (without the quotes)
- In the Account Name box, type your Lehigh username
(the part before '@lehigh.edu' in your email address, e.g. 'abc123')
- Put a check in the box by "Show VPN status in menu bar"
- Click "Authentication Settings"
- Make sure that "Shared Secret" is selected under "Machine Authentication", and enter "engineers" in the text box, and click OK.
- Click on "Advanced" and make sure that the "Send all traffic over VPN" is *not* checked. And click "OK"
- Click "Apply", close the System Prefs window, and look for
the VPN status menu in the menubar. Pull down and select "Connect".
