The mission of the School Psychology program adheres strongly
to a scientist-practitioner model with a behavioral orientation toward training
students. We strive to train students to attain a dual set of competencies as
capable researchers and skilled practitioners. As professional psychologists,
we believe students must obtain a working knowledge of basic psychological principles,
while being skilled in the application of psychological knowledge. At the doctoral
level, we aim to train students who will be competent researchers who can work
in a variety of applied settings to foster the healthy development of all children.
