Faculty Spotlight
George DuPaul

"Typically, treatment for children and adolescents with ADHD and related behavior disorders has focused on reducing their symptoms and disruptive classroom behavior.  It is equally important to directly address their academic and peer relationship difficulties, because many times when academic and social functioning is improved, behavior control also improves.  Further, this allows us to focus on building strengths rather than just reducing deficits."

This video is designed to be an introduction to the model of RTI that we are using through our MP3 Project in three schools in the Central Dauphin School District located near Harrisburg, PA, as well as in many of the pilot RTI sites across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Credit also is given to the staff at the E.H. Phillips Elementary School and Tri-Community Elementary School in the Central Dauphin School District, along with the Overlook Elementary School in the Abington School District, located in Abington, PA outside of Philadelphia. Overlook Elementary is serving as one of the seven pilot sites for the Pennsylvania RTI initiative.

Production of the video was a collaborative effort of WLVT-39, Public Broadcasting Station in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Special thanks to
Dr. Teri Haddad, Vice President of Education and Outreach for her wonderful support and serving as the producer/director of the video.
