> International School Heads Convened at Lehigh for Summer Educational Program

An evening reception was the setting
for the opening of the fourth educational degree program
for international educators, hosted by the College of Education.
Teachers and administrators hailing from countries as far
away as Chile, China, and Chad attended the campus event
in June.
The five-week, intensive summer program held at Lehigh
engaged international students in discussions around global
citizenship, policy and politics in international education
and in examining comparative educational systems. Special
emphasis was given to educational leadership, and the courses
were specifically designed to prepare the globally-minded
school leader.
Students in the program earned the following
degrees: doctorate in International Educational Leadership,
master’s
in Educational Leadership, and principal certification
for aspiring international principals.
In addition, 78 international
educators participated in a week-long Institute for Leading
Learning Communities
in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in mid July. Students followed
one of three professional development strands: Early Childhood
Education, Educational Leadership or School Counseling.
