Michael Golden was named Publisher of the International Herald Tribune in 2003. Previously, Michael was the Vice Chairman and Senior Vice President of The New York Times Company. He served the New York Times Company as Vice President for Operations Development since 1996. Mr. Golden was Executive Vice President and Publisher at the company’s Tennis magazine from 1994 to 1996, where he was responsible for all business functions. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Women’s Publishing Division, Publisher of McCall’s magazine, and general manager of Child magazine. He oversaw the sale of the Women’s Publishing Division in 1994.
Previously, Mr. Golden was Senior Vice President of the Retail Magazine Marketing Company, the Company’s magazine distributor, and held that position for two years. Before that, he served as the production manager of Family Circle. He joined the Times Company in July 1984.
