Seth Berbano - South Korea 2010

Seth Berbano, a senior majoring in Materials Engineering at Iowa State University, spent 10 weeks at Gyeongsang National University, Jinju, South Korea. His research experience involved coating cathode active materials with nickel in order to improve a lithium battery's capacity. Seth enjoyed the balance of guidance and freedom in his research, and particularly enjoyed learning how to assemble batteries. His favorite part about living abroad was the experience of cultural immersion, although getting used to his new surroundings and navigating the area was an challenge.

Alex Wesley - China 2008

Alex Wesley was a research experience undergraduate at the East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) in Shangai, China under the guidance of Professor Guorong Chen who is renowned for his work on biocomposite materials.
He was involved in a variety of projects involving glass material for optical applications by assisting other Master and Doctorate students.
