NAME: Jocelyn Helwig
E-MAIL: jrh8@lehigh.edu
UNDERGRAD DEGREE(S):
B.A.: Psychology - Lehigh University
RESEARCH INTERESTS: Social skills in pediatric cancer patients and survivors.
2007-2008 PLACEMENTS:
Allentown School District
Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, PA
WHY INTERESTED IN THE PROJECT:
I became interested in the Pediatric Leadership Training Project because of its focus on identification, communication, and early intervention in the domains of the home, the school, and the medical field. Pediatric school psychologists have the opportunity to work with the student, their family, school and medical professionals to help ease the transitions between the school and the medical facility to ensure optimal academic outcomes. Training in this area provides me with the necessary skills and practical experience in the clinical and school settings, allowing me to become a liaison between these domains.
