NAME: Ebony Holliday
E-MAIL: elh2@lehigh.edu
UNDERGRAD DEGREE(S):
B.A.: Psychology, Shippensburg University
M.Ed., Indiana University of Pennsylvania
RESEARCH INTERESTS: School-based health promotion in children and families. Early intervention for academic and behavioral issues in children. Family intervention for children with chronic illness, specifically Sickle Cell Disease.
2005-2006 PLACEMENTS:
Allentown School District, William Allen High School
Lehigh Valley Hospital
WHY INTERESTED IN THE PROJECT:
Specialized training in pediatric school psychology will allow
me to be better able to meet the needs of children who are dealing with
physical and/or psychological conditions. Such conditions have the potential
to adversely affect various areas of individuals’ functioning and
therefore, applying consultation, assessment, and intervention skills to
a specialized area would allow me to better serve and work with a range
of individuals in the pediatric population.
Additionally, I strongly believe in the importance of prevention programs
for children and families regarding various educational, social/environmental,
and health related issues. Becoming involved with the creation and/or delivery
of health prevention types of programs directed toward giving children and/or
parents the skills, knowledge, and resources they could utilize is of great
importance to me.
