Brief Biography

I am an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Lehigh University. Previously, I was a visiting Post-Doc at the University of California, Berkeley, hosted by Prof. Venkat Anantharam. I received my B.Tech in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 2002, and my M.S and Ph.D degree in electrical engineering in 2005 and 2007 respectively from Cornell University under the advice of Prof. Lang Tong.

My current research interests are in developing theoretical foundations for privacy in networked systems. Specifically, I apply tools in statistical signal processing, information theory and game-theory to study fundamental trade-offs between user privacy and quality-of-service (QoS) in data networks under different adversarial conditions. I am also interested in studying information leakage in cyber physical systems including the smart electricity grid, peer production and transportation systems. I am a recipient of the 2011 CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation and was awarded a P. C. Rossin Assistant Professorship by the Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (RCEAS) at Lehigh University.

My doctoral research was in the area of wireless sensor networks, specifically on distributed multiple access communication and statistical inference in large networks. Two publications that resulted from my doctoral research received the 2005 Leonard G. Abraham Prize and a 2006 IEEE ICASSP Best Student Paper Award.
