| Students requesting academic accommodations are required to submit for review current documentation of their disability (see Guidelines for Documentation). If a student is not certain whether s/he has a learning disability, the Director of Academic Support Services can conduct a comprehensive intake interview and screening process. If a complete diagnostic evaluation seems appropriate, the student will be provided with referrals to community-based professionals who can perform a comprehensive evaluation at the student’s expense. |
| Due to the confidential nature of disability related issues, students must sign an authorized release form each semester in order to provide faculty with notification of their disability. Students who have disclosed their disability are encouraged to notify their professors during the first week of classes. In order to provide faculty with ample notification to make arrangements for a proctor, a separate room or other special accommodations, students are asked to provide faculty with at least seven days notice prior to the need for accommodations. |
