Lehighs University Center offers many services that are available to all students through the Student Affairs Office. These services include the Dean of Students Office, First Year Student Programs, Academic Support Services, Multicultural Affairs, Student Development and the Womens Center. |

The Dean of Students Office strives to develop leaders who can make a difference in our world by offering students learning opportunities outside of the classroom to compliment their academic endeavors. We are here to challenge them to become immersed in college life. We believe that co-curricular involvement enriches their lives. As they adjust to living by themselves and continue to develop their value systems, students discover that Lehighs Student Life professionals are here to help and support them. |

First Year Student Programs |

During a four-day orientation for new students, we welcome students and their parents into the Lehigh family. Even before the first semester begins, new students are relatively familiar with Lehighs picturesque campus, academic and social life and the Bethlehem community. About 90 upperclassmen participate as leaders in the orientation process. |

The Office of Academic Support helps students succeed academically and manage issues such as prolonged illness, insufficient study skills, a lack of motivation, anxiety, or any other situation that impedes a students academic performance. We offer the following services either directly or through referral: |

Tutoring in most freshman and sophomore level classes. |
|
|
Mid-semester failing grade reports as a monitoring system for freshman and sophomores. |
|
|
A follow-up system for students who are not attending classes or failing to turn in required course work. |
|
|
An Achievers Program for second-semester freshmen on probation in which a staff member meets with a student at least once a week to help him or her develop successful learning habits. |
|
|
Services for students with learning disabilities. |
|
|
Learning skill workshops throughout the year. |

Year-round cultural programming, such as: Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month, Kwanzaa, Black History Month, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, round table discussions, speakers, workshops, art exhibits, dances, poetry nights, picnics, networking receptions, family weekend activities, programming with area colleges, career events, peer advisory/mentoring programs, and much more! |

The mission of the Womens Center is to make Lehigh a safe, supportive and respectful environment for women by |

educating the Lehigh community about gender issues |

reviewing University policies, regulations, and procedures, and recommending changes that will improve the campus climate for women and |

celebrating womens achievements and giving their voices avenues for expression. |

In the Centers spacious and sunny room on the second floor of the University Center (Room 207), everyone is welcome to seek information and referrals, to initiate and participate in a wide variety of programsand to relax on our comfortable sofas! The Center is committed to providing support for all women graduate and undergraduate students. We work closely with the Office of Multicultural Affairs to create programs for women of color. Students are especially encouraged to propose and develop programs that address their needs and interests and are relevant to our mission. The Womens Center contributes to the cultural and intellectual vibrancy of the campus by working with student clubs, academic departments, and the other branches of Student Affairs to bring exciting speakers, performers and events to Lehigh. |
