How can you adjust to your life back at Lehigh, share your stories and travel advice, utilize the new skills you developed overseas, and re-live and build upon your time abroad? Check out the links to the left and the suggestions listed below to continue your study abroad experience. We’re happy you are back and want to hear all about it!

Join us and mingle with fellow study abroad returnees where you can swap stories and travel advice, reflect on your time abroad, and gain some information on post study abroad opportunities. Please see our calendar for dates and times.

Tell us all about it! Results from these evaluations are taken seriously and impact future Lehigh student’s experiences abroad. We appreciate your help! You will recieve an email upon returning from studying abroad.
Join the Lehigh Abroad Peer Contact Network (LAPCN):
Now that you are an experienced traveler – are you interested in helping other students do the same? Your close friends might be tired of hearing your stories, but there are many future study abroad students that would love to hear about your adventures overseas. Member of LAPCN help spread the word about study abroad by serving as resources for various campus presentations, pre departure orientation, study abroad fair, or being a resource for students interested in a specific program or country. Serve as a Peer Advisor:
Peer Advisors work in the Study Abroad office primarily to advise students on studying abroad but also assist our office to promote and coordinate international education events such as info sessions, campus presentations, provider visits, and other special projects. Peer Advisors gain valuable skills such as counseling, event planning, and knowledge of the international education field. Peer Advisors are carefully selected based on previous study abroad experience, ability to dedicate two semesters at least 6 hours a week, and have high energy and dedication to promote study abroad. Meet new people. Going abroad is not the only way to meet people from other countries. 9% of Lehigh’s population is made up of international undergraduate and graduate students. E-mail Jeanne Ma , the International Student Advisor, to get involved with international events on campus.
Join a club or student organization, maintain your language skills.
Whether you traveled to China or France, Lehigh’s Global Union has a number of student clubs and organizations to join. In addition to student groups, they also offer language exchanges. Contact the Global Union http://www.lehigh.edu/~inglobal/ to find out how you can get involved.
Expand your horizons.
Attend lectures on campus by renowned foreign and domestic leaders, new ethnic restaurants, go to the 19th St. movie theater in Allentown for a foreign film, take advantage of trips that professors organize. Now that you have seen life outside the bubble, don’t turn back. Take time to look around at all Lehigh and the local community have to offer!
