Before You Go

Congratulations on your decision to study abroad! Study Abroad is a time filled with enjoyment, some frustrations, great times of adventure and quiet moments of personal development. It will be one of the most pivotal experiences of your life, to date.

All students are required to attend Pre Departure Orientation held shortly after the semester break to discuss important policy and procedures and cross cultural topics that will help you have a successful semester or year abroad. At this orientation, returned students will provide advice on topics including country-specific culture, packing tips, travel resources, ideas for communicating with home, the academic environment, how to make friends abroad, plus things they which they had known before their travels. Remember, it is you who decides how much to get out of your program abroad – so take time to prepare for the academic, social, and cultural differences you may encounter.  Please use the links to the left to prepare for your upcoming journey.
