Tuition
All students who intend to receive study abroad credit toward a Lehigh degree must pay Lehigh tuition ($17,655.00) each semester abroad, 2007-08. The tuition payment assures that students transfer academic credit, receive their designated financial aid, and maintain their Lehigh student status for insurance and financial purposes and to benefit from mailing and services normally provided to enrolled students by the University.
Room, Board, Other
Most study abroad programs bill the students for room and board. In other programs, Lehigh will bill your son/daughter for Room and Board. Check the exact billing for the program.
Payment made by Lehigh
Lehigh pays for tuition. If you should be charged by the program for an item that Lehigh covers, please send a copy of the invoice to the Study Abroad Office immediately.
Program Deposit
Any deposit required by the program sponsor must be paid on schedule by the student. If that amount is applied to an item that Lehigh pays to the sponsor, the deposit will be reimbursed as a credit on the student's Lehigh invoice.
Financial Aid
If your daughter/son qualifies for financial aid at Lehigh, that same aid will be available for study abroad. Any students with work study funds should contact the Financial Aid Office at Lehigh to discuss alternatives.
Lehigh Invoices
Invoices will be sent by the Bursar at the regular billing period prior to the semester abroad. At that time, financial aid and other fees will be figured into the invoice. Please make sure that your son/daughter has properly registered for their abroad program.
All Other Expenses
The student is responsible for all expenses not covered by Lehigh. This may include living costs, excursions while abroad, books, and personal expenses. In figuring the cost of a program, students are advised to plan for extra travel during the period overseas (estimated to cost $1,000 to $5,000). Please contact individual programs regarding fees.
Withdrawal from the Program
Your daughter/son is liable for any costs incurred by withdrawal from a Study Abroad program. Lehigh will adhere to the policy of the U.S. or overseas sponsor, and students are advised to consult individual program materials for details.
