Research Interest My main research interests focus on low-temperature thermochronology (fission track analysis, (U-Th)/He, and 40Ar/39Ar). I am interested in the application of these methods to understand tectonic processes and its interaction with surface processes. Another interest of mine is the refinement of the techniques of thermochronology. my CV (pdf)

Research Projects

STEEP (SainT Elias TEctonic and Erosion Project) project, a multi-disciplinary study at the highest coastal mountain range on earth, the St. Elias Range, SE-Alaska. U-Th/He dating and fission track dating on bedrock and detrital samples.
Helium solubility and diffusion on apatite and zircons.
Evolution of the “indentor corner” at the eastern end of the Himalaya-Tibet collision zone (Namche Barwa Project).
Cenozoic tectonic of Myanmar, in collaboration with Lothar Ratschbacher and Myo Min (TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany)
Post-orogenic erosion history of the Appalachians using detrital apatites U-Th/He ages of New England rivers, in collaboration with Frank Pazzaglia and Peter Zeitler (Lehigh University).
Provenance study of the Triassic Songpan-Ganzi turbidite complex (central China ) using detrital white mica 40Ar/39Ar ages and Si-in-white mica content and detrital zircon U/Pb dating. In collaboration with Amy Weislogel (Stanford University), Lothar Ratschbacher and Axel Renno (TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany) and Elisabeth Eide (NGU Trondheim, Norway).
Calibration of the absolute fission-track dating method on apatite and titanite, in collaboration with Raymond Jonckheere (TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany ).
