Arrange Accomodations

Places to Stay While Attending the Conference

Overview

There are many choices about where to stay in Seattle. Please note: it is required that you make your own arrangements for accommodations: the process of conference registration does NOT provide a place to stay. The standard choice is to stay at Haggett Hall, a student dormitory on the campus of the University of Washington. There are several advantages to staying at Haggett Hall, including convenience, economy, and view. There are, however, several nearby hotels that offer excellent accommodations. All are within a 20 minute walk of the Congress Center.

(If these are not quite your style, you may also want to consider other possibilities for accommodations.)

HAGGETT HALL

On-campus residential hall, adjadcent to the Congress Center, making it the most convenient place to stay. Most of the rooms have views of Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains. Residents share toilet and bathing facilities with others of the same sex who live on their floor. The room and board are combined in a package that will be about one-third as expensive as staying in the three nearby hotels.

REGISTRATION

Use the UW Conference Housing Reservation Form when registering for Haggett Hall. For more information, call (206) 543-7634.

UNIVERSITY SILVER CLOUD INN

This comfortable hotel was recently built near the University of Washington campus. You can take their shuttle van or walk uphill to the Congress Center in about 15 minutes. It has a swimming pool, a spa, complimentary "continental" breakfasts, and attractive rooms. It is near a shopping center with a large Barnes & Noble bookstore, restaurants, and a facility that will serve as the "Congress Pub."
